LOVE THY TERRORIST | Stuart Knight

In this video I offer a solution to ending terrorism on our planet now and forever. Some might think it’s too simple of an approach and would never work, but I think it’s something we need to give serious consideration as a way of truly creating a safer planet.

agree stop creating the conditions for terrorism. 70 air strikes in Yemen since Jan. Almost 1 a day from your non interventionist President. Remind me where the horrors of the ‘collateral damage’ are being reported?

Well said Mike. I couldn’t agree more. Luckily I’m a Canadian and while my Prime Minister isn’t perfect I am thankful every day that he’s not Donald Trump!

Please find a better title for your article. I agree with you in principal. Unfortunately we have elected a president that nurtures the “I’m Ok..too bad for You” mentality rather than the “I’m Ok..how can I help You”. Your words are great in theory and I think the only way to accomplish this goal is to understand that often the Truth lies somewhere in the middle. We have no choice but to kill those already commited to terrorism while finding a more altruistic solution. I.e. a way to not create more. We must first elect leaders who understand the value of altruism. You cannot Love terrorist for their minds are already set. We must do both, defeat the ideology of hate while eliminating the haters. That will not happen while people like Trump are in power.

Thanks for your thoughts Robert. I really appreciate it. As a Canadian, I can only empathize with what it must be like to be an American citizen with such an awful person as a leader. Our hearts truly go out to you. His approach to terrorism is archaic at best. With respect to the title of my post, I chose it because deep down we all have the capacity to be a terrorist, a rapist, murderer, bank robber or any other bad thing you can imagine. We also all have the capacity to be a poet, teacher, entrepreneur and president of the U.S. And the circumstances of our lives push us in one direction or another. So when I say, “Love thy terrorist” what I’m actually saying is that we need to love everyone on this planet because everyone and anyone has the capacity to do bad things if they are not given that love. And I agree with you that some terrorists do need to be killed in the process of hunting them down, especially when they start firing guns at police, but deep down I wonder what would happen if we could take those who we think are unreachable and love them in a way they’ve never been loved before. I feel as if, so many current terrorists would change their mind. Obviously that’s easier said than done, but something I think that is still worth discussing. Thanks again for your thoughts.

Absolutely true Stuart. The war machine, the business of it all, is too dependent on terrorism. There will always be fanatics, but making places like Syria a battleground for USA vs. Russia politics (they will just find somewhere else to blow up once they’re done with it) is fundamentally what’s keep the “war on terror” alive. It’s an extremely sad and sick joke.

Well articulated Sara. Thanks for your thoughts. I agree. Most people have no idea the corporate machine behind war and how it makes a very small number of people very rich.
